چکیده
Researchers have claimed that craving and Attentional Bias (AB) towards alcohol-related cues can be explained by a common incentive-salience mechanism. However, the exact relationship between AB is matter of debate. The aim this study was to show metacognitions moderate effect on craving. A sample 38 alcohol abusers undergoing post-withdrawal treating in hospital setting completed visual Dot Probe Detection Task (DPDT), while both pre- post-task measures were recorded. Our results confirmed significant effects exposure pictures alcohol, metacognitions, craving; particular, interaction Metacognition * DPDT significant. Although we initially main craving, it became non-significant when adjusted for inter-subject variance, metacognitions. not findings support hypothesis share but appears spurious, caused confounding factors. We discuss these with reference metacognitive model addiction.
